Cristiano Ronaldo has signed a two-and-a-half-year contract with Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr.
Ronaldo was a free agent after Manchester United confirmed that his contract had been terminated last month.
“The world’s best athlete has officially signed for Al-Nassr,” Al-Nassr tweeted. “His agreement will end in the summer of 2025.” An image of Ronaldo holding up the team’s jersey was included.
The club added: “History in the making. This is a signing that will not only inspire our club to achieve even greater success but inspire our league, our nation and future generations, boys and girls to be the best version of themselves. Welcome Cristiano to your new home.”
Ronaldo said, “I’m thrilled about a new experience in a different league and country. The vision that Al Nassr has is very inspiring.”
“I’m very excited to join my teammates, and to help the team to achieve more success.”
Cristiano Ronaldo will reportedly receive the biggest football salary in history at more than £177m per year.

Ronaldo Saga finally comes to an end
Ronaldo returned to Manchester United from Juventus in the summer of 2021. However, despite Ronaldo ending as the team’s leading scorer, the club could not qualify for the Champions League.
Before Ten Hag arrived, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was replaced by Ralf Rangnick in the middle of the season.
When Ronaldo declined to enter as a substitute during a Premier League game against Tottenham, the Dutch coach withdrew the striker since he could not find a regular place for him in his starting lineup.
He had tried to leave the club in the summer. Still, no team was willing to sign him due to worries about his suitability for elite European teams and his pay demands.
Ronaldo had given a contentious interview to Piers Morgan on the British TV network GB News in which he said he did not appreciate the current United coach Erik ten Hag, and outlined a series of perceived failings in the club’s handling of him.
After leaving Manchester United just before the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, the Portugal international was free to hunt for a new team.
After leaving Old Trafford, he was once more connected to various European teams, including Sporting Lisbon, Eintracht Frankfurt, Napoli, and Chelsea.

However, he has now decided to join the Saudi Arabian side Al Nassr in what will likely be the last playing contract of his career.
For Portugal, Ronaldo scored 118 goals in 198 games and 701 in 951 club games. He has won the Champions League five times, the Serie A twice, La Liga twice, and the Premier League three times.
