FPL Gameweek 25 Differentials

FPL Gameweek 25 has here, and it has four teams blanking and two teams doubling. It’s an exciting time in FPL, where having a differential choice or two will help you climb the ranks fast. 

Several managers have been planning out their FPL Chip strategy for their teams. To match the majority of the FPL manager’s team and chip scenarios, our differential picks this week were based on several double/blank scenarios. Here are our top five FPL GW29 Differentials recommendations.

Pablo Sarabia (£5.5m, Wolves) vs Fulham(A), Liverpool (A)

Sarabia has yet to produce any attacking returns in his first four Premier League appearances. Wolves are not among the top attacking clubs. Sarabia, however, is still selected. 

This is due to Sarabia’s favourable fundamentals (xGI/90 of 0.37). Sarabia also has a double game week in GW25 against Liverpool and Fulham, who aren’t the league’s top defensive teams. 

Regarding big Chances given up in the league since the World Cup break, Liverpool and Fulham are rated 19th and 14th, respectively.

With Sarabia on the roster, the Wolves overall statistics are also improved. The Differential Double Gameweek wager for GW25 may very well be Sarabia.

Ollie Watkins (£7.2m, Aston Villa) vs Everton (A)

The former Brentford striker had made a great start to life under Unai Emery at the time, appearing in all three of his appearances in all competitions. 

Since then, this pattern has persisted, with goals coming in four straight Gameweeks. He is scoring an astounding 8.5 points per game throughout that time.

Aston Villa has dropped points in three straight games—against Arsenal, Manchester City, and Leicester City—but they’ve still played hard and scored five goals.

In the first of four games against teams higher up the standings, they will now try to get back on track when they go to Everton on Saturday.

Darwin Nunez (£8.7m, Liverpool) vs Crystal Palace (A), Wolves (H)

Moreover, Liverpool will have two Gameweeks this week. They compete with Crystal Palace and Wolves. 

Crystal Palace ranks as the poorest team overall for shots in the box conceded (74), the worst for shots on target conceded (39), and joint third worst for big opportunities acknowledged in the last six games (18). As a result, investing in Liverpool’s offence will be crucial.

Although many prioritise midfielder Mohamed Salah (£12.7 million), others should give Darwin Nunez (£8.7 million) considerable consideration. The striker is having a good stretch of play. Nunez scored and assisted in his last two games; this week, he scored against Real Madrid. 

James Tarkowski (£4.3m, Everton) vs Aston Villa (H), Arsenal (A)

Since Sean Dyche arrived, which Everton player has attempted the most shots on goals? James Tarkowski is the reply. 

Over the previous three gameweeks, the centre-back has tried five times, all from inside the penalty area. With Dominic Calvert-health Lewin’s still a question, he has emerged as Everton’s main goal threat, primarily from Dwight McNeil set-pieces.

In the gloomy last months of Frank Lampard’s reign, doubling up on Everton’s defence would have been inconceivable. Still, the Toffees already appear to be a different club under their new manager. 

Given their past together at Burnley, it’s unsurprising that Tarkowski has quickly established himself as a critical player for Dyche’s squad on both ends of the field.

Dwight McNeil (£5.1m, Everton) vs Aston Villa (H), Arsenal (A)

Under new manager Sean Dyche, Everton’s winger Dwight McNeil (£5.1m) has excelled, becoming one of his team’s primary creative outlets.

He has led all players at Goodison Park in his last three games for touches in the final third (77), passes in the final third (37), crosses (31) and significant chances created (three).

Only Kieran Trippier (£6.1m) in the Premier League has tried more crosses than McNeil.

McNeil’s deliveries into the box will likely be one of Everton’s main offensive tools in the upcoming weeks when he is positioned on the wing in Dyche’s 4-5-1 system. 

Since Frank Lampard’s departure, the Toffees have been ranked top for successful crosses and joint-second for corner attempts per game.
