Harry Kane is open to signing a new contract at Tottenham Hotspurs

According to The Athletic, Harry Kane is willing to discuss renewing his contract with Tottenham and will do so when the January transfer market closes.

Kane open to new Spurs deal

It was reported that The 29-year-contract old’s expires the following year, and he may leave the north London club on a free transfer in the summer of 2024.

That has made Manchester United particularly aware of his prospective availability. It is also thought that Bayern Munich and Real Madrid are intrigued.

Spurs are reportedly considering selling on Kane if he declines to sign a new contract. They would take a cost of approximately £100 million from a Premier League opponent to avoid the risk of losing their top scorer for free.

However, The Athletic reports that Kane’s potential departure is far from a foregone conclusion, and he could be convinced to stay at Tottenham.

The England captain will meet with Spurs executives after the January transfer window to discuss terms and is “open to signing a new agreement.”

Tottenham had hoped to meet Harry Kane much earlier. Still, there haven’t been many opportunities due to his World Cup commitments and Spurs’ priority on the January transfer window.

Kane likely won’t sign a new deal until after the season, preferring to wait and see how Tottenham’s season turns out first.

The forward is eager to add some trophies to his resume, so he will evaluate the club’s chances of winning awards and the kind of players being brought in.

He prefers to stay with a Spurs team that he believes is competitive and capable of winning trophies. At the moment, his main priorities are securing another top-four finish and making the most of the FA Cup and Champions League.

Kane’s Spurs stance blow for Man United

This is good news for Tottenham Hotspur supporters and bad news for Manchester United.

Kane would be open to a move to United in the summer of 2023, according to journalist Miguel Delaney’s Reading the Game newsletter in The Independent.

Over the weekend, The Daily Mail reported that Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy might trade Kane in the summer of 2023 amid interest from clubs like Manchester United.

According to the report, Tottenham would demand at least £85 million in transfer costs for the 29-year-old. At the same time, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are also interested in him.

According to a report published in The Athletic this morning, Kane is not in a rush to leave the Spurs. One of the best attackers in the world may remain at the North London club past the season’s end.
