The atmosphere at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium turned sour as the home side failed to spark in the second half, with Milan creating the best chances of the game, but being denied by the heroics of goalkeeper Fraser Forster, as Brahim Diaz and Olivier Giroud both went close, leaving Tottenham’s hopes of advancing looking bleak; however, the Spurs players continued to push forward, leaving themselves exposed at the back, but Milan were unable to capitalize on their late counterattacks.
Tottenham’s hopes of progressing were dashed as they were defeated 1-0 on aggregate by AC Milan, with the Italian side producing a resolute defensive performance to keep Spurs at bay and secure their place in the quarter-finals.
Tottenham Hotspur’s exit from the UCL is another setback for the club, which has struggled to live up to expectations this season, while Milan will be looking to build on their success in the competition as they look to secure a Champions League place for next season.
