Transfer talks: Arsenal could bid for Caicedo, Denzel Dumfries situation & Chelsea interested in Nunes

Let’s see some of the transfer talks around the football world.

Arsenal is considering a late bid for Moises Caicedo

This month, Arsenal is mulling a deal for Moises Caicedo of Brighton and Hove Albion, although he would be a costly addition to the team.

According to The Telegraph, Brighton & Hove Albion are reportedly demanding a more than £75 million transfer fee if they want to sell Moises Caicedo to Arsenal before Tuesday’s transfer deadline.

Chelsea was the front-runner to sign Caicedo for a while, but their earlier offers were declined. Arsenal is now expressing interest in the player because they want to bolster their midfield this month.

Although Declan Rice is Arsenal’s top summer target, The Telegraph reports that the club won’t be deterred from trying to recruit a midfielder this month despite their interest in Rice.

According to Fabrizio Romano, along with Chelsea and Liverpool, Arsenal is one of three clubs considering a trade for Caicedo. He continues by saying that Brighton would only consider selling for a big offer.

That doesn’t, however, completely rule out a transfer. In case Caicedo goes this month, Brighton has started looking at potential replacements, and Romano does not rule out a late surprise from Arsenal.

Denzel Dumfries’s agent in England to discuss a potential move

Rafaela Pimenta, the agent for Denzel Dumfries, has flown to England to talk about her client’s probable transfer from Inter Milan to the Premier League.

According to Calciomercato, Pimenta has arrived in England to meet with Chelsea, Manchester United, and Newcastle United as part of his efforts to cut ties with the Nerazzurri.

Since Serie A resumed in 2023, Dumfries has logged less than 90 minutes in five games for Simone Inzaghi’s team, which has sparked concerns over his future.

The thought of selling Dumfries to the highest bidder has understandably surfaced given the Italian’s well-known financial struggles, especially in light of Matteo Darmian’s reassuring performances.

Although it’s believed that Inter won’t consider proposals below £44 million, a £35 million offer might be enough to convince them to approve the 26-year-old’s transfer.

Chelsea joins the race to sign Matheus Nunes

Matheus Nunes, a standout midfielder for Wolves, is the newest player to be added to Chelsea’s list of transfer targets as they attempt to outbid Liverpool for his services.

After missing out on the 24-year-deal old’s last summer, Liverpool has been after him for a while and is planning to make another move for him later this year.

Chelsea is reportedly prepared to compete for the Portugal international in the summer, according to The Telegraph.

Nunes just switched to the Premier League last summer after joining Wolves in a reputed £38 million ($47 million) transfer from Sporting and signing a five-year deal. He has made 17 Premier League appearances for Wolves, although the Molineux club is now in last place.

The Stamford Bridge team has several midfielders on their radar besides Nunes. Chelsea has been linked to players like Declan Rice, Moses Caicedo, and Enzo Fernandez to bolster their midfield.
