Transfer talks: Arsenal signs Leandro Trossard, Madueke to Chelsea & Tottenham want to sign Zaniolo

Let’s see some of the transfer news around the football world.

Arsenal agrees £27m deal with Brighton for Leandro Trossard

Arsenal will purchase Leandro Trossard from Brighton and Hove Albion for £27 million. The south-coast club had requested £30m, with 10% of any money going to Genk, but they ultimately settled for a little less.

After missing out on Mikhailo Mudryk, Arsenal is actively hunting for attacking additions to strengthen their title campaign. Brighton is eager to sell because manager Roberto De Zerbi no longer wants to utilize the forward.

Trossard’s current contract expires in the summer. However, there is a provision for an extension, which explains why his asking price is rather low for a player who just turned 28 and has established Premier League experience.

While several clubs were interested in signing him, his representatives have been pressing for a deal the whole transfer window, and Arsenal was by far the best choice.

Trossard is understandably enthusiastic about the transfer and is pushing for it; this is made easier by the positive relationship between the two clubs.

In 2019, Trossard, who primarily plays as a left winger, transferred from Genk to Brighton for roughly €15 million. In 116 games with Brighton in the Premier League, he has 25 goals and 13 assists.

Chelsea agrees deal sign Noni Madueke from PSV Eindhoven

According to reports, Chelsea has agreed with PSV Eindhoven for England Under-21 superstar Noni Madueke.

Many Premier League teams have been keeping an eye on the 20-year-old, with Tottenham, Newcastle, and Leeds among those that have expressed interest.

But despite paying Shakhtar Donetsk €100 million for Mykhailo Mudryk, Chelsea has also agreed to sign Madueke, with PSV holding out for €40 million, which would be comparable to the sum Liverpool paid for Cody Gakpo.

According to 90min, Madueke, who played for Eindhoven after spending time as a junior player with Crystal Palace and Spurs, is currently in London for his medical examinations before signing a contract.

Terms of a long-term contract that will make Madueke Chelsea’s sixth acquisition of the January transfer window are reportedly already set. The Blues have welcomed Mudryk, Benoit Badiashile, Andrey Santos, David Datro Fofana, and Joao Felix this month.

Tottenham leads the race for Nicolo Zaniolo

Gianluca Di Marzio, a transfer expert, claims that the Giallorossi are open to offers for the 23-year-old Italian playmaker and are willing to sell Nicolo Zaniolo in the January transfer window for the right price.

Tottenham is mentioned as a potential suitor and has made a loan offer with an obligation to buy if certain conditions are met.

Zaniolo moved to Roma from Inter Milan in 2018, and in the four and a half years since, he has made 128 appearances for the team, amassing 24 goals and 18 assists.

In 42 appearances across all competitions, he contributed eight goals and nine assists, making last season his most prolific one yet.

He has, however, had a significant decline in performance this year and was even jeered by the club’s supporters during their Coppa Italia match against Genoa.

The playmaker’s current deal expires in 2024. Because negotiations to extend it have stalled in recent weeks, his agent is now trying to clinch a transfer for his client out of the Italian city before the window closes.

The Italian team has placed a €40 million price tag on their prized midfielder and won’t entertain any offers below the €35 million mark.

Spurs have proposed a loan deal with an obligation to buy as long as certain terms are met, but they will likely reject this offer.
