Let’s see some of the transfer news around the football world.
Caicedo asks to be sold by Brighton amid Arsenal links
Moisés Caicedo, a midfielder for Brighton, has responded to rumors that both Chelsea and Arsenal may be interested in acquiring the Ecuadorian come January with a statement on Twitter.
The 21-year-old made a big impression after Ecuador had a fantastic World Cup, and he has shot to the top of some clubs’ transfer lists.
The Athletic claims that Brighton turned down Chelsea and Arsenal’s initial offers, but the player has asked the team to allow him to depart.
In the statement, he said, “I have always done my best for them, and I am grateful to Mr. Bloom and Brighton for allowing me to come to the Premier League.”
“I always play football with a heart and a smile on my face. I was raised in poverty as the youngest of ten children in Santa Domingo, Ecuador. My lifelong goal has been to become Ecuador’s most decorated player.”
“The fans have taken me into their hearts, and they will always be in my heart, so I hope they can understand why I want to take up this magnificent opportunity.”
“I’m proud to be able to bring in a record transfer fee for Brighton, which would allow them to reinvest it and help the club continue to be successful.”

Anthony Gordon is set to sign for Newcastle United
After the two sides agreed on a transaction that might cost £45 million, Newcastle United is close to signing Anthony Gordon from Everton.
Gordon, absent this week, was back at Everton’s Finch Farm training facility on Friday.
The 21-year-old forward’s switch to Tyneside is finalized well before Tuesday’s transfer deadline.
It is believed that the initial charge will be £40m, with add-ons increasing it to £45m.
Everton reportedly wanted £60 million for midfielder Gordon when Chelsea was interested in him in the summer, but the Merseyside club has now opted to sell.
Gordon is an indigenous player who joined Everton in 2012 and has seven goals in 65 games since his debut in 2020.
Since the Boxing Day loss to the Wolves at home, he has not started a game. His most recent goal came on October 22 in a 3-0 victory over Crystal Palace, Everton’s most recent victory across all competitions.

Chelsea agrees to the deal with Lyon to sign Malo Gusto
According to reports, the teenage right-back Malo Gusto is expected to join Chelsea before being loaned back to the Ligue 1 team until the end of the current campaign.
Chelsea’s second offer appears to have been successful after the club rejected the Blues’ initial €20 million offer.
Rayan Cherki, a target for PSG, and Gusto were both promised by the Lyon leadership that they would stay till the season was over, Laurent Blanc had said in his press conference earlier.
The precise amount of the Premier League team’s latest offer is still unknown. Still, earlier reports from Foot Mercato suggested that it was likely to be in the range of €30 million to €40 million.
This transfer fee was too high for Lyon to turn down for the French youth international, especially given that they are unlikely to qualify for European football for a third consecutive season.
