Diego Godin’s future with his current club, Atletico Madrid, look to be at the finishing line as reports suggesting that he is heading towards Inter Milan next summer.
Having his contract running out, he supposedly will move to Italy on a free transfer, but it seems that Atletico won’t be giving up that easily.
Los Rojiblancos’ boss, Diego Simeone recently spoke to the media stating his hope that his club can still keep the Uruguay international next season.
Nevertheless, Simeone admitted that whatever result from the talks between Atletio and Godin are for the best of both parties.
“Both Atletico and the player are seeking the best solution for all parties. The club and Godin know what I think about this,” Simeone explained. “If he does remain with us, it’ll be because it’s best for him and the club.
Reports from Italy already claiming that Godin has said yet to Inter and is expected to receive six million Euro per year with the Italian outfit.
The Nerazzurri reportedly offering the 32 year old a two year deal to arrive at San Siro as free transfer signing starting from next summer.
However, if Atletico can convince the veteran otherwise, there’s no telling that he eventually opting to stay and end his career in Spain instead.
