Spanish giant, Barcelona are reportedly close to compete the signing for Jeison Murillo from Valencia in a loan with buying out option.
Consistent injury problems that have been hitting Samuel Umtiti along with Thomas Vermaelen so far this season, triggered El Barca to make this decision.
Murillo himself hasn’t always been healthy this season, but his situation is still much better compared to what’s currently going on with Umtiti and Vermaelen.
Blaugrana themselves have been linked with several more high profile names at the back, but it seems that they are trying to be more reasonable with their choice considering it’s a January market.
Barca certainly still have high hopes for Umtiti’s recovery, so they are not planning to just get a big name and suddenly find difficulties in giving them playing time when everyone’s healthy.
Murillo is considered as that reasonable option that can be used as a good back up cover to help them in domestic and European competition.
Reports stated that Barcelona are set to pay 2 million Euro as an initial loan deal towards Valencia, plus 25 million as the player buy out option price.
This small paid loan deal with option setup has been a very common method that teams are using recently with the purpose of providing equal advantages for all parties.
