Rumors of Joao Felix’s potentially moving to Atletico Madrid have been shut down by the player’s current club, Benfica. The Portuguese team stated on their official website that any reports saying they have an agreement with Atletico is false.

The Eagles even deny any sort of negotiation process is going on for selling Felix this summer. Benfica also slammed further report saying that there’s a 30% commision being involved in any potential deal.

“In view of the set of news published in these last hours, Sport Lisboa e Benfica -Futebol, SAD clarifies that it is false that any negotiation process is currently underway regarding a possible transfer of player Joao Felix,” the club statement read.

It was a strong statement from the current Portuguese league champion as they’re not liking those recent rumors. However, it’s not something unpredictable as Benfica have previously stated that they have no plan on selling Felix next season.

Nevertheless, if a club were to pay up the 19-year-old’s release clause, Benfica can’t really do anything much. It won’t be cheap though to snatch the young star as The Eagles are asking for $120 million Euro.

Felix himself is not trying to think too much about rumors about him as he is only focus on improving himself. The youngster only looking for what’s best for his future, which for now is mainly to get regular playing time.
