Uruguayan international, Edinson Cavani shut down rumors of his potential departure this January by pledging his loyalty to Paris Saint-Germain.
Speaking in a recent interview with the French media, Cavani reveals that he is very happy at PSG and has every intention of seeing out his contract with the Paris based outfit.
The former Napoli’s men is under contact until 2020 and by that time he might already start thinking about his retirement plan.
“Right now, I’m playing towards the end of my contract and possible my career. I’ll be 33 going on 34 when it’s up,” Cavani explained. “I do not know if I will continue after 2020 and if it will be in Paris. I feel good here, though, and I want to see my deal out.”
This statement pretty much shut down recent talks about his potential departure to either Chelsea or Napoli during this January transfer window.
Cavani seems to really enjoy his time at PSG, though they are constantly under pressure in Europe of having to challenge for Champions League trophy.
However, having regular playing time at one of Europe top clubs, while playing with many top players certainly bring plenty joy for the Uruguayan.
Although he doesn’t know what will happen in the future, but it’s clear that Cavani’s plan for now is staying with PSG.
