Anticipating the departure of Cesc Fabregas in this January transfer window, Chelsea reportedly set their sight on Italian midfielder, Nicolo Barella.
The Blues are keen on making Barella as that needed replacement for Fabregas, so Maurizio Sarri’s side are hoping to land him this winter.
Reports from both Italian and English media claiming that Chelsea are ready to prize up the 21-year-old who is valued at 45 million pounds.
Aside from The Blues, Barella has reportedly attracting attention from other to teams such as, Juventus, Inter Milan, AC Milan along with Liverpool.
Knowing that huge amount on interest, Chelsea certainly keen on securing their target as soon as possible, before any bidding war starts.
Sarri himself has warned his team that if they let Fabregas leave in January, a replacement must also arrive since the London side are rather thin in that department.
Barella himself supposedly still prefer to stay in Italy, but with the strong Azzurri connection at Stamford Bridge, the young midfielder might consider the move.
It remain to be seen on how willing Chelsea are in splashing their cash immediately on this winter market, especially for such young talent.
The Blues might start their assault on the 21-year-old once Fabregas officially leave them.
