Following Atletico Madrid’s elimination in the Champions League, Antoine Griezmann reportedly considering his future with them. According to ESPN FC, the France international is now open to leave Los Rojiblancos.
Griezmann had the chance to depart from Atleti last summer with Barcelona being keen on his service. However, the striker opted to stay at Wanda Metropolitano for a massive 24 million wages.
Apparently, Blaugrana has already move their interest elsewhere as they’re looking for younger profiles. Moreover, Barca are concern with Griezmann’s big wages as they are not prepare to pay that high.
The striker would be willing to reduce his salary, but will still to expensive for many teams. Moreover, considering that he is already reaching 28-year-old of age, teams might be looking to invest on younger players.
Although Atleti haven’t been doing badly this season, but the Frenchman is looking for success in Europe. He has experienced many failures in the Champions League and their recent elimination against Juventus is disappointing indeed.
However, considering his high profile and wages, Griezmann might need to rethink his decision if he wants a move. Already opting to remain with Los Rojiblancos last summer, it’s going to be difficult for him in moving away from that choice.
