Real Madrid are still looking for their first win in 2019 and they will be giving their best to get it as they battle Leganes in Copa Del Rey first leg.
Los Blancos Desperate to Get First in the New Year
Failing to win in their first two La Liga fixtures this year, Los Blancos now set their sight on Copa Del Rey.
Facing 17th place Leganes, Madrid remain favorite on paper, especially since they will be playing in front of their home crowd at Santiago Bernebau.
However, it wont be an easy task for Santiago Solari’s men especially with their recent run of bad results.
Madrid did beat Mauricio Pellegrino’s men earlier this season in the league, but Leganes were able to eliminate Los Blancos in last season’s Copa Del Rey.
Toni Kroos along with Gareth Bale will be out for this tie, while Sergio Ramos could be rested by Solari this midweek.
Leganes Looking to Repeat Last Season’s Copa del Rey Success
Los Pepineros might be struggling to overcome Los Blancos in recent La Liga match ups, but they did eliminate Madrid from the same competition in previous season.
That positive result will be a strong motivational addition for Leganes as they face up again this upcoming Wednesday at Santiago Bernebau.
The visitor won’t have much any pressure either when battling against Los Blancos as Pellegrino’s boys won’t be considered as favorite to win.
Although their in a poor form so far, but Madrid’s desperation to get back on winning ways can push them to give their all.
