Real Madrid didn’t need too much time to give a present for Zinedine Zidane as their head coach. Los Blancos already providing the Frenchman a new player for next season in Eder Militao.
The defender was signed from FC Porto for 50 million Euro and set to officially be Madrid’s new player from next summer. Militao will also be with Zidane’s side for six years as he set to sign a deal until 2025.
“Real Madrid and FC Porto have agreed the transfer of Eder Militao and the player will sign on a six-year contract running until 30th June of 2025,” read an official statement.
It’s a quick and positive move indeed for Los Blancos, as the price can get higher if no deal was agreed sooner. Reports from Spanish media suggesting that Madrid must pay 75 million euro if they wait for another week.
Militao’s arrival is a positive sign in improving Madrid’s back line that have been regressing this season. The center back will be competing with Raphael Varane and Sergio Ramos in that position.
However, the 21-year-old can also play as right back, which should give him lots of advantages.
Militao is only most likely only the start of a potentially busy summer market for Los Blancos.
