After battling for top four spot in this recent Premier League season, Manchester United and Chelsea are battling again. Only time time, they are competing in the upcoming summer transfer market.
According to reports in England, both United and The Blues are eyeing the same player. Those two sides apparently are keen on signing Napoli’s full back, Elseid Hysaj for next season.
The versatile full back is attracting those two teams attention and is available for a move. The Albanian reportedly is also looking to move away from Naples as he is searching for a new challenge.
Chelsea actually were already keen on getting him last summer as their boss, Maurizio Sarri wants the right back to join him. However, nothing was materialize at the time, but things might eventually happen this time.
However, Man United might have a bigger shot in taking Hysaj next summer as Sarri’s side are having some issues. The current Europa League winner is facing a transfer ban from FIFA and The Blues are still appealing that decision.
Aside from the ban, there’s also an issue regarding Sarri’s future as rumors are claiming he won’t be staying at Stamford Bridge. Juventus are reportedly looking to snatch the veteran tactician in place of Massimiliano Allegri, who is leaving Juve.
Without Sarri, Hysaj might reconsider his plan of choosing Chelsea and take other options instead. However, Man United also won’t be able to offer Champions League football next summer, so both teams are far from the perfect choice for the full back.
