Premier League giant, Manchester United are in search for a new center back and reports suggesting that Kostas Manolas is their main target.
Reports in Italy and England claiming that United are ready to pay the Greek international’s release clause worth 36 million Euro.
However, that contract clause won’t be active for this January transfer window, so if Red Devils are planning to go that route they can only secure him next summer.
For now, it seems that paying up that release clause is what Man United are planning on doing as Roma doesn’t seem that keen on releasing Manolas easily in January.
The Italian side themselves reportedly are looking to extend their defender’s contract and eliminating that clause along the way.
However, the Red Devils will try their best in approaching the Italian side so they can work out on something for the Greek international.
It’s a very delicate situation indeed for United as their search for a new center back seems to always hit some problems.
Nevertheless, if Ole Gunnar Solksjaer’s side doesn’t have any problem in waiting until next summer, they can get their man without much resistance from Roma.
It remain to be seen what Man United’s management will decide as they have been rather cautious with their spending on defender this season.
